We are so happy you are exploring becoming a foster parent with us. There are many foster children in Waukesha County and the surrounding area waiting for a stable, loving home. As a statewide Wisconsin foster agency, we are always hoping for new foster parents to join our family. Waukesha County is just one of the 50+ Wisconsin counties we service.
Matt and Trish live in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and currently care for two foster children, a brother, and a sister. Both children are in middle school, each with an IEP. The kids are making great progress only 2 months into the placement and healing is beginning to happen for each child. The children have been in foster care for 14 months and Matt and Trish are the 3rd home for the siblings. Previous foster homes did not offer enough flexibility in their schedules to meet the needs of the kids.
We always wanted to foster older kids.
The couple contacted us in early 2020 expressing interest in helping older kids. Trish is a para-professional with the same schedule as the kids and Matt works in retail often requiring evening work. Between them, they are able to attend scheduled appointments, transport the kids to visits with mom, meet with their Case Manager weekly, and are available for unplanned interruptions and/or schedule changes.
If you qualify to be a foster parent and can provide love, patience, and acceptance to children with trauma, we would love to speak with you. We encourage you to explore our website and find many answers to the important foster care questions you have.
